Answers to Nothing, released in 1988, is the second solo album by former Ultravox frontman Midge Ure. It was the first release by Ure following the demise of Ultravox. The track “Sister and Brother” was a duet with Kate Bush.
Intertwining stories exploring the bad in the best of us and the good in the worst of us. Against the backdrop of a child abduction case we follow five days in the life of a woman whose determination to get pregnant keeps her from confronting her husband’s infidelity, her best friend a single parent detective assigned to the case of the child abduction, a school teacher and his obsession with the missing child that pushes him to the edge of vigilantism, a beat cop grieving over the violent death of his wife, a recovering addict and her wheel chair bound brother preparing for the LA marathon, and a self-loathing African American TV writer’s search for love. Starring Elizabeth Mitchell, Dane Cook, Julie Benz and Barbara Hershey.

My husband is producing a spectacular movie called, “Answers to Nothing” and was nice enough to let me be in it! It’s a wonderful script with a great cast! Dane Cook, Elizabeth Mitchell, Julie Benz and ME!! I had such a great time filming! I thank everyone who was involved; it was such a fun day! Roadside Attractions announced today that is has acquired all U.S. rights to Answers to Nothing, directed by Matthew Leutwyler (The River Why) and starring Dane Cook, and will release the film nationwide on December 2, 2011. Answers to Nothing is a gritty drama of interweaving stories set in Los Angeles against the backdrop of a child kidnapping case.
Along with Dane Cook, the film also features Elizabeth Mitchell, Julie Benz, Academy-Award Nominee Barbara Hershey, Zach Gilford, Kali Hawk, Erik Palladino, Mark Kelly, and Miranda Bailey.
Answers to Nothing is based on an original story by Matthew Leutwyler, who also wrote the screenplay with Gillian Vigman. The film was produced by Amanda Marshall of LA-based production company, Ambush Entertainment (SUPER) and Sim Sarna. Ambush’s financing arm, Cold Iron Pictures, financed the film. The director of photography is David Jones, the production designer is Joe Lemmon, the editor is Matthew Leutwyler, and the costume designer is Keri Smith. Watch Answers to Nothing Movie Online
The domestic deal was announced by Howard Cohen and Eric d’Arbeloff, Co-Presidents of Roadside Attractions.
